Lisa Clemans-Cope

Lisa Clemans-Cope, Ph.D., is an Urban Institute research associate. She recently completed work on a simulation model of government-funded reinsurance policies at the state level, assessing the impact of alternative policies in reducing private health insurance premiums and expanding insurance coverage in three states. She has assisted in the development of two microsimulation models used for simulation and evaluation of state and national reform proposals. Clemans-Cope has also conducted research investigating recent changes in offer and take-up of employer-sponsored health insurance, and how public policies affect access to health care, use of services, and enrollment in health insurance for vulnerable populations. In 2003, she completed a Ph.D. in the Health Economics program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
