Regional Post-Flood Recovery Assessment and Plan: Zlatograd, Bulgaria (Research Report)The flood of November 30, 1996, left the Zlatograd, Bulgaria, municipality and the surrounding region in extremely bad condition. This report summarizes the most important recovery efforts, a workplan, and damage assessment. The goal is for complete recovery of the municipality and an overall economic revival built on the efforts of the whole community.

Zlatograd Community Development Center: Interview Guidelines and Results (Research Report)This report documents the findings of interviews administered to the residents of Zlatograd, Bulgaria, during September 1997. The goal of the interviews was to evaluate the role, functions, and success of the activities of the Community Development Center (CDC). In addition, high-priority areas for future development of the CDC were identified. The interviews were designed to elicit information about how a well-organized community overcomes problems associated with geographical isolation and the 1996 flood.
