In addition to serving as a leading center of knowledge and expertise in its practice areas, the Urban Institute Center on International Development and Governance (IDG) is a respected project manager and implementer of international development projects around the world. Supported by the administrative and financial management systems of the Urban Institute, IDG manages an annual project portfolio of over US$ 20 million per year.

Through its project activities, IDG provides technical assistance, capacity building and project management services to communities, NGOs, governments and countries around the world. In addition to UI’s headquarters in Washington, UI currently has country offices in Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Serbia and Tajikistan.
