Our counterparts and partners

As part of IDG’s mission to improve governance and economic opportunities for citizens in developing countries, IDG works with a broad range of government agencies, research institutions, universities, development partners and international financial institutions. Our counterparts and partners include government policymakers, elected officials, private sector actors, civil society leaders, academics, and donor agencies from over 70 countries. UI staff work with colleagues in Africa, Asia, Latin America, central Asia, and Eastern Europe from our offices in Washington DC, as well as from our country offices in Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan and Serbia and Tajikistan.

Our sponsors

The Urban Institute’s international activity is supported by a wide range of public and private sector entities including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), the World Bank, national governments, foundations, and other development and financial institutions.

Contract modalities

UI holds a variety of grant and contract mechanisms that make it simple to access the expertise of our team. For U.S. Government entities (such as USAID and MCC), several Indefinite Quantity contracts and the GSA schedule are available.
