Jim Parrott comes to the Urban Institute as a part-time senior fellow after serving for several years in the White House as a senior advisor with the National Economic Council (NEC). Prior to joining the NEC, Parrott was Counsel to the Secretary of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), advising Secretary Shaun Donovan on housing finance issues. He has a BA from the University of North Carolina, an MA from the University of Washington and a JD from Columbia University School of Law. Parrott will work to ensure that the analytic work being done at the Institute both informs and is informed by the major policy discussions of the day, giving the Institute a seat at the table with leaders and stakeholders working to shape the future of the nation's housing policy.

Jim is also the owner of Falling Creek Advisors, which provides financial institutions with strategic advice on housing finance issues.
