Income and Benefits Policy Center
Gregory Acs is the incoming Director of the Urban Institute’s Income and Benefits Policy Center. Previously, he served as Unit Chief for Labor and Income Security in the Congressional Budget Office’s (CBO) Health and Human Resources Division. Dr. Acs’s research concentrates on the low-wage labor markets and the well-being of low-income families and children. In addition to his work at the Urban Institute, he is a member of the Policy Council for the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM), a research affiliate at the University of Michigan’s National Poverty Center, and a member of the steering committee for the Employment Instability, Family Well-being, and Social Policy Research Network at the University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration. Dr. Acs earned his A.B. in economics from Georgetown University and his Ph.D. in economics and social work from the University of Michigan.
