The Urban Institute is a great place for me because I can work here on policy-relevant issues with like-minded people.

Stephan Lindner was a research associate in the Income and Benefits Policy Center at the Urban Institute, where his research examines social insurance and welfare programs––in particular, Social Security Disability Insurance, Supplemental Security Income, and unemployment insurance. He is interested especially in how economic circumstances, income sources, and program characteristics influence program participation for displaced and disabled workers. His other research interests include technological change and employment prospects of workers, the wage effect of immigration reform, and how family arrangements are affected by unemployment.
