Serena Lei is director of writing services at the Urban Institute. She oversees a team of writers who help create and substantively edit content for all Urban products, including features, blog posts, publications, newsletters, and the website.

Before joining Urban, Lei was a reporter. She received her bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University and her master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
