Myca San Miguel is a policy coordinator in the Center on Labor, Human Services, and Population at the Urban Institute with nearly six years’ experience in apprenticeship and workforce development. She supports numerous labor and economic development initiatives that leverage innovative models to improve the workforce environment and its policies in nontraditional ways. San Miguel has extensive experience engaging industry, policy, and academia stakeholders; cultivating strategic partnerships; and providing technical assistance to optimize and diversify systems and outcomes for workers and industry. She also conceptualizes, writes, and disseminates content to facilitate conversations with practitioners and policymakers to broaden the reach of this work.

Before joining Urban, San Miguel was a research assistant for a leading cybersecurity policy expert and supported efforts to strengthen states’ and regions’ cyber-readiness and preparedness at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies. She received her BA in communications at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
