Megan Thompson is a research assistant in the Income and Benefits Policy Center at the Urban Institute. Her work focuses on Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), food and nutrition issues, and microsimulation modeling. Previously, Thompson worked in the legislative affairs department at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and was an analyst at the Michigan Department of Community Health–Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program. Thompson received a dual BA in comparative cultures and politics and in social relations and policy from Michigan State University. She is working toward an MS in food systems and society at Marylhurst University.
