Biography

Erwin de Leon is a research associate in the Metropolitan Housing and Communities Policy Center at the Urban Institute, where he has authored or coauthored reports and articles on community-based organizations, immigrant nonprofits, government contracting and grants, public education organizations, and stimulus funding of government programs.

Before joining Urban, de Leon was a research associate at the Aspen Institute’s Nonprofit Sector and Philanthropy Program, and a research fellow at the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. He is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post and the Nonprofit Quarterly.

De Leon received his MS in nonprofit management from the New School, where he is currently completing a PhD in urban and public policy.
