Ashley Hong is a research assistant in the Center on Labor, Human Services, and Population at the Urban Institute. Her research interests include the school-prison nexus, racial inequality, and social change through education. Her previous research experiences focus on after-school programming, media representation of the college admissions process, and the community school initiative in the Philadelphia school district.
Hong graduated with high honors from Swarthmore College, where she earned a BA in sociology with minors in black studies and educational studies.
