Amanda Irene Napoles

Research Associate II

I grew up in a low-income region of Los Angeles where I was exposed to the struggles that people insured by Medicaid and CHIP, and those without any insurance, face in obtaining quality care. Witnessing these struggles led me to a career in health policy, where I hope to contribute to work that alleviates them.

Amanda Napoles is a research associate in the Health Policy Center at the Urban Institute, where she supports research focused primarily around the experiences of Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program–insured populations.

Napoles holds a BA in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is pursuing an MPP with an emphasis in health policy at George Washington University, where she is a merit scholar.
