New Center Directors

Donald MarronDonald Marron: Director, Tax Policy Center. Marron previously served as a member of the President's Council of Economic Advisers, as acting director of the Congressional Budget Office, and as executive director of Congress's Joint Economic Committee. Before his government service, he taught economics and finance at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and served as chief financial officer of a health care software start-up. Marron is also a visiting professor at the Georgetown Public Policy Institute.

 

Rolf PendallRolf Pendall: Director, Metropolitan Housing and Communities Policy Center. Before joining the Urban Institute, Pendall oversaw graduate studies in city and regional planning at Cornell University and previously taught at the University of Rhode Island. Prior to teaching, he served as the director of housing at the Bay Area Council in San Francisco. Pendall has conducted groundbreaking research on how state and local land use controls vary, whether they work as intended, and their consequences for affordable housing, racial and ethnic diversity, and the environment.


 

New Board Members

Annette L. NazarethAnnette L. Nazareth: Partner, Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP

Ms. Nazareth is a lawyer and a former policymaker. She served as a commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and as the director of the SEC's Division of Trading and Markets. She has also held senior legal positions in the investment banking industry.

 

Joshua B. RalesJoshua B. Rales: Founder and Managing Partner, RFI Associates

Mr. Rales is a lawyer, investor, and philanthropist. Through his RFI Foundation, Mr. Rales supports organizations committed to educational equity, cancer research, health care for the uninsured, and other social services for the underprivileged.
