Research shows that social service programs targeted at the developmental needs of children from birth to age 3 can foster educational and social achievement later in life.
One collection of programs demonstrating notable promise revolves around home visitation, personalized visits by professionals and trained child care experts that provide parents and caretakers with information, support, and materials to better care for children.
