One in five children were income-eligible for both programs, and 73 percent of children ever eligible for SCHIP were eligible at other times for Medicaid. As SCHIP is reauthorized, Congress will need to give states the tools and financial commitment to assure that uninsured children are enrolled in and retain the coverage for which they are eligible. | Publication Date: October 01, 2007 | Availability: HTML | Counting the Uninsured: A Review of the Literature (Occasional Paper)Although most researchers agree that the number of Americans without health insurance is increasing, they often disagree on the actual number of the uninsured. This paper discusses the variations in survey design and how the variations may explain many of the differences among estimates of the uninsured. | Publication Date: July 01, 1998 | Availability: HTML | PDF |
